Can't expand card to view comments without [Enter your comment] field being open

If I want to view the comments on a card the only way to ‘expand’ the card is to activate the [Enter your comment] field which is adding to visual and cognitve noise. Can we please have a way to ‘expand’ cards to view comments without needing to activate the [Enter your comment] field?
Or is this a bug and it shouldn’t behave like this?
